After my children were grown, I returned to college and discovered an unexpected class at the state school. "Bible Appreciation" met across the hall from my anatomy lab. Occasionally, when the doors opened at the same time, chatter from the other class reached my ears. I curiously wondered what was being taught in that room. From the book of all books, some of those young students might have been reading scriptures for the first time. Perhaps, more accurately, they were only following the class syllabus which compared God’s precious words to those of philosophers of ancient cultures.

Did that course's three-credit hours assure its students of the real intent of God's holy word: appreciation for its offer of salvation?

Do you read your Bible? It's not so hard to understand. Here's a suggestion: click "Home Page" above. At "Home Page" refer to the menu list. I hope you'll choose "Reasons for Belief" and then "Barebones". My prayer is that you will consider those brief, simply stated words.

What can I do to help you be right with our Lord?

Jesus commanded Ananias to tell Paul to be baptized to wash away his sins.

Acts 22:16. Peter said baptism saves us, not by removing dirt from our bodies but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience. We can know we have obeyed God's command. I Peter 3:21
