My hot summer day began early as I gave our pool its regular brushing and maintenance. The patio provides my usual “cool-down” breaks and so it was that morning when, so unexpectedly, a soft cooling breeze wafted by and a prayer of thanks went up to our Lord, who carries me through each day. That incident stirred thoughts that I’d like to share.

     Words about warmth and love that touch hearts: “kindness” - “gentleness” - “goodness” - “compassion” — those words came to mind as I sat pondering.

     I began a mental list of Bible narratives of one person showing kindness to another person, especially in a troubled time. The Good Samaritan heads my list of many. I challenge you to make just such a list.
